App and Services

Creating, managing, sharing and sending drinks: With the Qbo App, there are just no limits to your coffee creations! No matter how much coffee, hot or cold milk and foam you like in your cup, the app will support you with helpful preparation hints and recommendations for coffees and drinks. You can brew your favorite coffee at any Qbo Machine that is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your smartphone. And thanks to the Remote Brew and Timed Brew functions, you can even wake up to the fragrance of your favorite coffee.

You can use the Qbo App with or without a profile. If you own a Qbo Machine, we recommend that you create a Qbo Profile, because this will give you access to more app functions and you'll be able to enjoy lots of advantages. Alongside app functions such as machine and user rights management, brewing activities and machine statistics or the “Bring my coffee” service and the "Recommend Qbo" program, you'll also be able to access campaigns, offers and Qbo Rewards.

To create a Qbo Profile in the app, you'll need a valid e-mail address and to agree to these Terms and Conditions. After entering your data, you'll receive an e-mail with a link to confirm your e-mail address. After you've successfully confirmed it, your Qbo Profile is activated. After this, you can connect the Qbo Profile to your Qbo Machine and activate Cloud Communication. Now you'll be getting even more out of the Qbo App. By the way: You can use your Qbo Profile on many smartphones at the same time – this way family members and friends can also use the additional features that you activate on your machine with your Qbo Profile.

 

The Qbo Profile

The Qbo Profile features two main areas:

1. Statistics

As a machine owner, you can access your machine statistics here, so that you always know how many liters of coffee and milk have run through your machine, how many drinks were prepared in the machine and even how much caffeine this totals. In addition you can see up to most recent 50 activities on your machine in chronological order including the date – all on a daily basis and over a 7 or 30 day period.

2. Rewards

As a machine owner with a Qbo Profile you not only can indulge in delicious coffee moments but also can look forward to great Qbo Rewards. Each coffee that runs through your machine brings you closer to the next reward you desire. For every 10th coffee you receive one point. The first reward can be redeemed with 25 points collected. All rewards and the number of points needed are displayed on the rewards catalogue in your Qbo Profile. You receive a voucher code for the chosen reward that you can redeem with your next order at www.tchibo.de or www.tchibo.at.

 

Push Notifications and Qbo Newsletter

We'll tell you when there's something new or if we have a surprise for you. You can switch off these push notifications at any time in the app under "More - push notifications". When you create a Qbo Profile, we will also inform you, if you like, by newsletter about Qbo-related topics that are relevant for you, such as new types of capsule that you might like. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by changing your settings in the app, under Profile, or sending an e-mail with "Cancel newsletter" as the subject to service@qbo.coffee. The newsletter costs nothing to receive and can be cancelled at any time.

 

Recommend Qbo

"Recommend Qbo" provides you with the opportunity to share good taste. If you know someone who would also enjoy the finest barista-quality coffee, then recommend Qbo to them. If your recommendation is successful, you'll both receive a thank-you gift. 

If you like to take part in the "Recommend Qbo" program, you should note the following points:

 

  • You'll need the Qbo App, a Qbo Profile and a Qbo Machine connected to Wi-Fi and having Cloud Communication enabled.
  • You can recommend as many people as you like, but not yourself, unfortunately. 
  • You cannot be recommended more than once either; you can only be recommended once per Qbo Profile and Qbo Machine.
  • Qbo Machines that are obtained via a rental scheme, those that you won in competitions and prize draws or those that are test machines cannot be used to accept a voucher. However, you can use a machine of this type to send a Qbo Recommendation as part of the "Recommend Qbo" program.
  • Please note: The recommendee‘s machine needs to participate within 7 days of setup to be able to claim the voucher. Claiming the voucher after that time is impossible due to technical limitations. 
  • The thank-you voucher can be redeemed once at www.tchibo.de / www.tchibo.at for Qbo Capsules. It cannot be exchanged for cash.

We would like to make "Recommend Qbo" as easy as possible for you, so that it only takes a few clicks to recommend someone. Technically, that means: For each recommender and recommendation recipient, we generate a random "recommendation code" in our system so that we can issue the thank-you vouchers to you both after the successful recommendation. The code can only be used to issue the thank-you vouchers to you both after activation. Once the thank-you vouchers have been issued, this code is deleted from our system.

IMPORTANT: In order to receive the thank-you vouchers both of you need to activate push notifications „Promotions & Offers” under “More – push notifications”.

Data Protection

You will get the best Qbo experience if you make sure that your machine is connected with Wi-Fi and cloud communication enabled. With these two simple steps you get access to additional app features you shouldn’t miss. You can find out what data we collect from you and how these are processed in “More - Data Privacy”.

 

Suspension, Termination and Interruption

Tchibo GmbH reserves the right to change, adapt or interrupt the services described without prior notice if this seems necessary and does not put you at a disadvantage contrary to good faith. Tchibo GmbH will take your justified interests into account. You can delete your profile in the app under Profile Settings. If you have used the app and associated services in violation of these Conditions of Use, or if there are other major reasons, e.g. technical manipulation, misuse or attempted fraud, we reserve the right to suspend your rights of access or usage with immediate effect.

Usage of the Qbo Profile

These Conditions of Use represent a legally binding contract. When you create a Qbo Profile, you declare your agreement to these conditions.

 

Social Sharing

With the app, you will be able to create content and share it via Facebook and via e-mail. You can decide what content you would like to make public so that you and others can have lots of fun with Qbo. Please do not use our app in any way that could generally be construed as offensive (in any way, for example, that is obscene, illegal, insulting or discriminatory or that could violate the rights of others). User contents are made available by users and not by Tchibo GmbH.

 

Access and Use

With the installation and use of the app on your smartphone, we grant you a simple, non-transferrable right (without any right to grant sublicenses) to access and use our services.

 

Automatic Software Updates

Tchibo GmbH makes every effort to provide you with the latest software and the best service. To guarantee this, we reserve the right to update and modify the software at any time. Updates and modifications are also governed by these Conditions of Use.

 

Third Parties and Third Party Fees

If, when using the app, you also use services, download software or buy products that are provided by third parties, these are governed by their own applicable rules and restrictions, and you must comply with these in respect of the relevant third-party suppliers.

The use of this service is at your own risk. Tchibo GmbH is only liable for damage caused deliberately or by gross negligence. Tchibo GmbH is liable in full for claims under the Product Safety Act and damage to physical health and life. Otherwise, all liability is excluded.

 

Ownership and Intellectual Property Rights

Tchibo GmbH is the holder or license-holder of all industry property rights which are used for this service and the products. You may not reproduce, change, display, develop, perform, publish, market, distribute, transfer or transmit such materials or contents to third parties without the prior written agreement of Tchibo GmbH.

Formal Communication

As we develop our app further, we will have to adapt our Conditions of Use from time to time. Whenever this is the case, we will publish the modified version directly in the app. It is therefore a good idea to check these Conditions of Use regularly for changes.

 

Applicable Law / Final Provisions

These Conditions of Use and all legal relationships between Tchibo GmbH and the use of the Qbo Profile are governed by the law of the country in which the user has his domicile. If individual provisions are or become partly or completely invalid, this shall not affect the legal validity of the Conditions of Use. Instead of the invalid provision, Tchibo GmbH is entitled to replace it by a legally valid provision that comes as close as possible to the sense and purpose of the invalid provision. This applies accordingly in the event of any omissions.
